Anechoic Chamber for Antenna Measurement
Purpose of use
Albatross Projects GmbH designed and installed this chamber for antenna measurement at the competence centre and professional development house for high-frequency circuits, wireless modules, and communications systems: IMST in Kamp-Lintfort, Germany. In this chamber a wide range of measurements for verifying the performance of RF materials, antennas, circuits, etc. is performed.
Technical Data
Dimensions: 11,5m x 7,0m x 5.55m (L x W x H)
Antenna Measurements
- Shielding effectiveness: > 100 dB from 100 kHz till 20 GHz
- quiet zone: sphere with 2,5m diameter
- test distance: up to 8m
- QZ reflectivity: > 40dB at 4 GHz
- QZ ripple, multi path loss and cross polarisation according to customer specification
Features
The chamber is fully lined with resistive high performance absorbers having different sizes, from 8 inches to 26 inches including the walkways from the RF door to the EUT and antenna position, according to the chamber design. To ensure a high degree of repetitive and reproducible measurements, the geometrical accuracy of the absorber lining is crucial. This has been achieved using our modular “plate & rail” absorber installation method. The chamber features a positioning system that includes a planar scanner, one double winged blade contact door of 2.400 x 2.400 mm clearing opening for EUT entrance and one blade contact door of 1.200 x 2.050 mm clearing opening, for access to the antenna position.
