Introduction
This shielding element is primarily used for ventilation inlet as gaseous media can pass the honeycomb structure at high flow rates. For exhaust of gases from combustion engine vehicles, high temperature honeycomb inserts are available.
Honeycomb inserts consist of a matrix of metal waveguides. Their shielding effectiveness up to the cm-wave range is based on the attenuation behaviour of waveguides beyond cut-off frequency and this depends on size, length and number of waveguides. Our standard honeycomb range is 1GHz, 20GHz and 40GHz.

The honeycomb modules are supplied with edge profiles with screw fixing and contact mesh to the shielding modules. Flanges are provided for connection to the air conditioning system or fan ventilation as appropriate.

Honeycomb sizes

Standard honeycomb sizes are:

• 330mm x    330mm
• 500mm x    500mm
• 130mm x 1,000mm

However, other sizes can be manufactured according to customer’s requirements.
