Throughout the years, the standards were demanding various test setups, which was responded by the positioning system solutions with particular EUT test interfaces, e.g. conductive or non conductive tables, respectively special positioning devices.

EUT table low reflection

As described in the § 5.9 of the recent CISPR 16-1-4, the set-up table influences are more and more a critical issue in the attempt to reduce the overall measurement uncertainties and need to be recorded during EUT measurements. Albatross Projects GmbH is answering to this need by implementing into his solutions low reflection EUT tables, an example of which is described below.


The Plastic Test Table PTT is especially designed as freestanding test table for installation on top of a turntable in electromagnetic absorption chambers. The table is fabricated from non-conductive material with a very low dielectric constant εr (epsilon) and has a removable table top.

turn device

The Turn Device APHP is especially designed for wireless equipment (e.g. mobile telephone) and/or for equipment with wireless access point (e.g. Notebooks) measurements.  Different sized EUT can be mounted on the mounting bracket made of Rohacell hard foam.


The APHP is usually mounted onto a turntable to have both 360° vertical and horizontal rotation for 3D measurements.


Together with the turntable the system performs three-dimensional over-the-air radiation measurements. The measurement height is fixed; standard height is 1.5m above floor level. Other heights are available upon request.
The Turn Device, with the exception of the drive unit, is fabricated from plastic (Rohacell hard foam, PVC and reinforced fibreglass). Metal parts are located only in the base plate and the drive mechanism (max. 0.3m above ground level). Design and materials ensure the lowest reflection values and are in excess of what is required to successfully pass the CTIA Certification Program – Test Plan for “Mobile Station over the Air” Performance.
The IEEE 488.2 (GPIB) bus provides an additional control option for all functions, when operated with the SCU/MCU Controller.
